Dear Shortridge Sports Enthusiasts:

We invite you to join us at the Broad Ripple Brewpub on the evening of Wednesday Jan 30 for an informal discussion about the future of Shortridge athletics.   Craig Huljak, the new athletic director, will be present from 6:30-8:00 PM to share his enthusiastic ideas for the Athletic Department and to meet parents  As a bonus, the management of the BrewPub (which includes the Shortridge family the Hannans) will be donating 15% of sales to the Booster Club (Invite your friends!)

We have been working to make our Athletic Boosters organization more “official” and more impactful for our Shortridge athletic programs.  Over the course of the last year, we have made significant progress on that front, and now have a  formal charter, our own bank account, and are officially a 501C3 tax-exempt organization. In addition to the organizational activities, the Booster Club has:

  • Raised money through last spring’s golf scramble, selling hamburgers at games, and working a Lucas Oil Stadium concession stand.
  • Used that money to purchase senior banners and help with equipment purchases.
  • Pushed for increased communication between coaches and parents.
  • Worked closely with the school administration to revise the academic eligibility requirements.
  • Provided volunteers at multiple events.

However, we want to do more, and we need your help. Please come out on Jan 30 to meet other SHS families and learn about the Booster Club.  Bring your ideas for raising money, spending money, increasing attendance, supporting our athletes, different food at the concession stand – all ideas are welcome.  And importantly, help support the Booster Club with your food and beverage purchases!

We hope to see you there!
